When Your Child Leaves the Nest

So….it’s happening as we speak. She’s already staying at her new apt. and is slowly moving her stuff out. As my husband keeps saying…she just needs to rip off the bandaid already! lol

I’ve been there before…our two oldest boys moved out years ago, and live in two different states, which doesn’t include ours! 😫 How did that even happen? It must be something that the army brat life taught them. The fact is, no matter how old they get, you never stop worrying about them! It was easier when they were home and you knew they were safe.

Now, it’s our only daughter’s turn to fly away. Yes, she is 24 years old, yes, she is a third grade teacher(the best ever!), BUT, besides my husband, she is my best friend!🥰 I know it’s a good thing. I know that it’s our job as parents to raise them to be independent and see them fly. I know that we did an amazing job with all of our kids, and Will and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Nevertheless, it’s still hard! The bright side? A clean bedroom and less of her crap left around the house! Eh, who am I kidding!😫 The brightest side is that she’s only moving about 20 minutes away! 😁

We now have two more at home…Jake is a senior this year and Noah is a junior! I’ve learned from experience to hold onto every moment, every laugh, every tear, every argument, every everything with them! And a little secret I’ve also learned to share with all of you parents out there, is to lock them inside when they turn 18. 😜
