The Beauty of Brick!
Hey all! It’s been a minute since I did a blog post, and I was doing so well with keeping up with it! Until I had major surgery in October, which turned into a medical emergency two weeks later, and I was rushed to the hospital with Pulmonary Embolisms(blood clots in the lungs) and an infarct, which almost killed me! I’m back and better though, and very thankful to be!🥰
On a lighter note, Christmas is only 3 days away!! Are you ready for it? If you’ve been following me for awhile, here or on my other social channels, you know that I’m in love with Brick! I love the rustic look and feel of it, and the fact that it’s virtually maintenance free! So when we saw our house for the first time, I loved the brick outside and couldn’t wait to see what was inside!
When we walked in, we saw the brick fireplace hearths on both fireplaces, and fell in love! They were so rustic, but beautiful!
So when we began our kitchen reno, I knew what I wanted! I had to have a brick backsplash, and continue the trend! And it went from this…
To this…😍
For my kitchen, we used thin brick mesh, so it was much easier to work with! I get asked all the time over on Instagram about clean up behind the stove, but honestly, it’s not even an issue! We made sure to get a grout with a good sealant, so the grout always cleans up easily, and if there’s a splash, the bricks wipe right off! Easy peasy!
Did you know that brick is not only pretty and maintenance free, but it saves on energy costs? It’s also safer when it comes to weather and fire protection! Our next big project is our long and narrow laundry room, and I can’t wait, because we plan on putting in a brick tiled floor!🙌🏻
