Office Refresh and Accent Wall

Happy Monday y’all! Today on IG, I shared my office refresh reveal reel, and thought I’d share the details with you all!

A couple of months ago, Will and I decided to switch offices! I used to be upstairs, and while there was a beautiful view of the lake up there, I never wanted to go all the way upstairs to work, so I would work from the couch with the dogs. lol My husband works from home and has meetings all the time, so it was actually his idea to switch! I was so excited to make it pretty and have a place of my own that I loved to be in!

I know that this room is a little different than you guys are used to from me, but right away, I knew that I wanted it to be girly and more glam than rustic. So I went with a French Country Glam look with a hint of vintage farmhouse! It began with the wallpaper, that I found from the Magnolia Collection, at The Home Depot online! This was my inspiration!

You can’t really see it in this pic, but there are small paragraphs that are written in French in between the roses!

I knew I wanted wallpaper and an accent wall behind me, but I wasn’t sure what or how. So I began some research online. I found something similar to this and put my own spin on it, and of course I have to thank my husband for helping me put it all together! We measured the wall so that we could figure out how to evenly put the squares and rectangles on it, and then used chalk lines to mark it all out. We then used the chalk lines to put up the wallpaper, and put the molding around it. FYI…we spray painted the molding first before putting it on the wall! After all the molding was up, with caulking and a pin nailer, I then painted all around it , along with in between the molding on the bottom!

My next inspiration was the desk lamp above that I got from Decor Steals! Once I got that, I knew that this room was going to have a touch of glam! Hence my chandelier that you see in the pic!

The faux fireplace was also an amazing find on Decor Steals, and with the accent wall done, I knew I needed something on the left wall that made a statement. You’ll see the fireplace in my reel!

I’m sharing my TikTok reel so that it can be seen with the music, and I’ll also share a few more pics. I have one more thing coming for the top of the fireplace, so I’m excited to get that in and show you! Items used for accent wall are…

*Measuring tape to measure wall

*chalk line to outline where you want your wallpaper to go

*Wallpaper of your choice

*We used 2.5” molding from Lowes, but you can use whatever style or size that you want

*Caulking to put behind the molding that is used as a glue, and also around the mounding once installed

Pin nailer to put the molding up

*Paint- Cotton Knit by Baer- found at Home Depot

This was before adding the accent chairs on either side of the fireplace, the accent, battery operated wall lights from Decor Steals, and the chandelier!
I love my desk chair! It was the perfect pop of color in this space, with the neutral wallpaper! My bamboo shades are also a fave!😍
